Hai's Bak Kut Teh

Serves 4 Persons


All You Need
1 box of Hai’s Singapore Bak Kut Teh Sauce Kit. Includes: 1 sachet of Hai’s bak kut teh paste, 1 chinese herbal bag and1 sachet of dark soy sauce
600g spare ribs
8 garlics (small)
1500ml Water


Some Simple Steps

  1. Blanch the spare ribs in boiling water for 20 seconds
  2. Drain and set aside
  3. Bring 1500ml of water to boil
  4. Add garlics and herbal bag to cook for 20 minutes
  5. Add the bak kut teh paste and spare ribs and bring to boil
  6. Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 30 minutes
  7. Sprinkle some coriander to serve.


How To Serve
Serve a bowl of hot bak kut teh with fragrant chinese tea and crunchy Youtiao (fried bread stick)

Bak Kut Teh Paste

Garlic, soy sauce (soy bean, flour, water, salt), pepper, rock sugar, star anise, cinnamon, monosodium glutamate
Chinese Herbal Bag
Cinnamon, angelica pepper, aralia cordata, sinensis, star anise, paurantii, cigusticum, radix rehmanniae, rhizoma atraclylodis, radix glycyrrhizae, rhizoma lingustic.
